Saivian: 10 ways to get over the fear of starting up!

On a daily basis, I receive messages from people who are keen to work on their projects, but do not know where to start says Saivian. The fact is that starting up a business is no easy task-it takes time and effort to research the market, look for potential customers and partners, develop a product or service, and finally offer it into the market.

The good side however is that once you go through this process just once, you will be familiar with the steps needed in the future. One of my favorite Japanese quotes goes like this: “Fall seven times and stand up eight.” If one does not give up after failing several times, he/she will eventually succeed!

Today’s guest post comes from Eva Stenram, who is a business consultant and the founder of A Better Lemonade Stand. In her post, Eva outlines 10 tips to help budding entrepreneurs overcome their fear of starting up.

We all have fears. Fear of heights, fear of the dark, fear of public speaking. But one of the most common fears is the fear of starting up says Saivian. This can be a paralyzing fear that keeps us from pursuing our dreams. But it doesn’t have to be that way!

There are many ways to get over the fear of starting up, and in this article we will explore 10 of them.

1. Make a plan:

This is a key. If you don’t have a plan, you’re going to feel lost and afraid. But if you have a plan, you’ll know what you’re doing and you’ll feel more confident.

2. Take small steps:

Don’t try to do everything at once! The best way to get started is to take small steps one at a time. If you try to do too much, it will seem overwhelming and you’ll stop before you’ve even started.

3. Give yourself deadlines:

It is very rare that anyone reaches their goals without setting themselves deadlines for success explains Saivian. Even if your goal seems impossible, give yourself deadlines for reaching milestones along the way which will keep you on track for your overall goal.

4. Make sure everything is in place:

Before starting up, make sure everything is in place so there are no hiccups along the way! This means having the right tools/skills/finances etc beforehand so they can’t hold you back once you startup! You don’t want to start your business and then have to stop because you don’t have the tools you need.

5. Get organized:

This is another key factor in getting started. If you’re disorganized, it will be difficult to get anything done. But if you’re organized, everything will be in its place and it will be easier for you to work on your goal.

6. Surround yourself with positive people:

One of the best things you can do is surround yourself with positive people who will support your dreams and help keep you motivated! Negative people will only bring you down and discourage you from reaching your goals.

7. Visualize success:

Visualize yourself succeeding! This is a great way to keep yourself motivated during the hard times when you want to give up. Think of all of the things you will be able to experience once you reach your goal and it will help drive you!

8. Take life one day at a time:

Don’t dwell on yesterday or worry about tomorrow. Forget about all the reasons why you can’t do something and focus only on today, which is what matters most! You can accomplish so much if you just focus on doing well in the present moment and not worrying about anything else says Saivian.

9. Don’t compare yourself to others:

This is huge. We’re all special because we’re unique and different from everyone else in some way or another. You shouldn’t compare yourself to anyone but yourself. Everyone is in a different place in their life, so just focus on your own path and don’t worry about anyone else.

10. Don’t give up!

This may be the most important point of all! So many people want to start something but they never do because they are afraid of failing or being discouraged when things get tough says Saivian. But if you truly have a dream inside of you, don’t ever stop fighting for it no matter what happens! If you fall down, keep getting back up until you reach your goal! You can do anything if you set your mind to it!

Conclusion:

So there are 10 ways to get over the fear of starting up! Sometimes we’re scared because we’re afraid of failure or being discouraged along the way. But don’t worry about these things. It’s impossible to fail if you never give up, so always keep trying no matter what happens!
